Pam Willment, Certified  Doula & Experienced Mom!

“I  studied to become a certified Doula with the WOMBS organisation (Women Offering Mothers Birth Support), during 2013.  The opportunity arose for me to train as a Doula and I went ahead with it as my passion in my life has always been to encourage pregnant/birthing women, and with nurturing mothers with babies and young children.

I originally started out doing Nurses training immediately after leaving school, but did not pursue the diploma, as nature had other plans! Having had four children over an eight year period I found myself very busy raising and caring for my own. After the birth of my third child, I became very involved in La Leche League support groups and went on, after completing their application process over a couple of years, to become a Leader. I ran groups in Port Elizabeth for a short while, then moved to KZN Midlands in 1990. I ran support groups in the Howick area for a few years, and then handed the group over to another leader as my children had grown into teenagers and I found myself in another “phase”. Although I was not actively involved with a LLL group I still continued to do breast-feeding support amongst friends and peers through all the years. I currently run  breastfeeding support groups  in Howick and  Pietermaritzburg.  Meetings held in a home, interesting topics at each meeting!

Over the past 5 years, I have had over 50 BIRTH clients, in Private, Goverment and Home birth situations.

As a Certified WOMBS Doula and with ample life experience, I feel equipped and ready to support Mom’s through the end stages of pregnancy, birth and beyond!”
